NSW police charge man over Forbes police assault after vehicle stop leads to arrest

A man has been charged for allegedly assaulting police in the state’s Central West after he was arrested following a vehicle stop yesterday.

About 4.15pm (Friday 22 May 2020), officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command stopped a car on Bells Line of Road, Bilpin.

Following inquiries, the officers searched the vehicle and allegedly found methylamphetamine.

The man was arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug.

He was also charged with assault officer in execution of duty and resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty after allegedly assaulting and hindering officers during an incident on Scrivener Street, Forbes on Saturday 16 May 2020.

He was refused bail to face Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 23 May 2020).
