NSW police charge man over multiple incidents

A man has been charged with multiple offences from three alleged incidents in Sydney’s west.

Police will allege about 10.10am on Sunday 31 March 2019, a man confronted a woman in a supermarket in Parramatta and allegedly touched her buttocks. Staff and security were alerted, and the man was escorted out of the store while verbally abusing the woman.

Later that day, just after 6.15pm, a 29-year-old woman boarded a train at Parramatta Railway Station and took a seat. Shortly after, a man began to verbally abuse her and other women nearby. She then moved to another carriage.

About 2pm on Thursday 4 April 2019, police will allege a man entered a store inside a shopping centre on High Street, Penrith, picked up a potted plant and left. He then walked into a chemist, allegedly took an Automated External Defibrillator, and left the store.

Officers attached to the Police Transport Command’s bicycle unit attended and arrested a 52-year-old man at the scene. He was taken to Nepean Hospital for assessment.

Upon discharge, the man was taken to Penrith Police Station and charged with sexually touch another without consent, two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm, larceny, armed with intent to commit indictable offence and possess prohibited drug.

The man was refused bail to appear in Penrith Local Court today (Thursday 11 April 2019).
