A man has been charged over two alleged armed robberies in south-west Sydney yesterday.
About 4.00pm (Wednesday 3 April 2019), police will allege a man entered a convenience store on The River Road, Revesby, and threatened the employee with a knife, before fleeing the scene on foot with cash.
The employee was not injured.
A short time later, just before 5pm, police will allege the man attended a post office on Anderson Avenue, Panania, and threatened three employees with a knife while demanding cash.
The employees fled to another room and were uninjured, while the man allegedly stole the cash register and fled the scene.
Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended both locations and commenced an investigation.
Following inquiries, officers attended a house on Bebe Avenue, Revesby, about 8pm, and executed a search warrant.
A 38-year-old man was arrested and taken to Bankstown Hospital under police guard.
Upon release, he was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with two counts of robbery armed with offensive weapon and assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm.
The man was refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court today (Thursday 4 April 2019).
