NSW police charge man with commercial drug supply and firearms-related offences

A man will face court today charged by Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives over the alleged large commercial supply of ice in Sydney’s south west.

Last year, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Shaughnessy to investigate the activities of a criminal syndicate operating across Sydney.

During the investigation, police received information relating to the commercial supply of prohibited drugs.

Following extensive inquiries, strike force detectives arrested a 43-year-old man at a home at Prestons about 7.15am today (Tuesday 20 October 2020).

A search warrant was subsequently executed at the property where police seized an electronic stun device, an air rifle, cannabis and methylamphetamine (ice).

The man was taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), supply prohibited drug (small quantity), possess unauthorised firearm, possess unregistered firearm, not keep firearm safely and possess or use a prohibited weapon without a permit.

The man was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today.

Investigations under Strike Force Shaughnessy are continuing.
