NSW police charge man with firearms and weapon offences after search warrant

A man has been charged after a firearm and weapons were seized during a search warrant in Sydney’s south-west.

Just after 6am today (Thursday 12 May 2022), detectives attached to Sydney City Police Area Command executed a search warrant at a home in Macquarie Fields, in relation to an aggravated break, enter and steal – which allegedly occurred in the Sydney CBD last month.

During the search, investigators allegedly seized a sawn-off bolt-action rifle, prohibited weapons including a crossbow, two zombie knives, cannabis, and other items allegedly related to the aggravated break and enter.

A 29-year-old man was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where he was charged with possess unauthorised firearm, aggravated break and enter dwelling in company and steal, three counts of possess prohibited weapon, and possess prohibited drug.

He was bail refused to appear before Campbelltown Local Court tomorrow (Friday 13 May 2022).
