Six people have now been charged over an alleged brawl at a shopping centre in Sydney’s west last year.
Just after 4pm on 26 December 2019, officers from Parramatta Police Area Command were called to a shopping centre on Church Street, following reports of a brawl.
It will be alleged in court that a group of six males, one armed with a hammer, assaulted three people.
Parramatta detectives commenced investigations and on Friday 27 December 2019, two juveniles were arrested in relation to their alleged roles in the brawl.
A 16-year-old was charged affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others.
A 17-year-old was charged with affray, use offensive weapon in company with intent and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Both received conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Children’s Court on Wednesday 26 February 2020.
On Saturday 28 December 2019, a 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged with affray.
He was released on conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Children’s Court on Thursday 30 January 2020.
Following further inquiries, an 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with affray on Tuesday 7 January 2020.
He was bail refused to next appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 26 February 2020.
On Thursday 9 January 2020, a second 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with affray, use offensive weapon in company with intent and two counts assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was also bail refused and will next appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 12 March 2020.
Today (Saturday 18 January 2020), a sixth male allegedly involved in the brawl was arrested and charged with affray.
The 14-year-old boy was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Children’s Court on Monday 20 January 2020.
