NSW police charge teen with 25 property offences

A teen will face court today, charged with 25 property-related offences in the Hunter region.

Oxley and Hunter Valley Police Districts have been investigating a spate of break-ins and stolen motor vehicles across the two police districts since January 2022.

Following extensive inquiries, about 9.45am yesterday (Thursday 28 April 2022), officers attached to Operation Mongoose, in Hunter Valley Police District, attended a home in Muswellbrook to speak with a boy.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station.

He was charged with 25 property-related offences and was refused bail to appear before a children’s court today (Friday 29 April 2022).

Operation Mongoose was established in April 2022, consisting of police from the Detectives, Proactive Crime and Crime Prevention Unit within the Oxley Police District, Western Region Enforcement Squad, Traffic and Highway Command, Youth Command and Dog Unit.
