NSW police charge teen with multiple offences

A teen has been charged following an investigation into numerous break and enter offences in the state’s north east.

In January 2022, officers attached to Oxley Police District Proactive Crime Team, initiated Operation Southbreak 2022 to target high-volume property crime in the Tamworth area.

Between Thursday 26 November 2020 and Wednesday 27 October 2021, officers commenced an investigation into numerous break and enter offences into homes, which occurred in Minnamurra Crescent, Tamworth, Brisbane Street, Tamworth, Rawson Avenue, North Tamworth, North Street, North Tamworth, Tuscany Boulevard, North Tamworth, Hill Street, East Tamworth, and Manilla Road, Oxley Vale.

Following extensive inquiries, officers attended a juvenile correctional facility about 9am today (Friday 1 April 2022), and arrested a 17-year-old boy.

The teen was taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with twelve offences;

– Three counts of take and drive conveyance without consent of owner

– Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner

– Aggravated break and enter & commit serious indictable offence – armed

– Aggravated break and enter with intent – knowing person there

– Aggravated break and enter with intent – use violence

– Break and enter dwelling – house etc with intent (steal)

– Resist officer in execution of duty

– Three counts of break and enter house etc steal value

He has been remanded in custody and will appear before a children’s court on Tuesday 31 May 2022.
