Three men have been charged following an altercation at a licensed premises in Batemans Bay.
About 3.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 25 September 2019), officers attached to the South Coast Police District Proactive Crime team attended a licenced premises on Orient Street, Batemans Bay to arrest a 25-year-old man wanted by virtue of an outstanding warrant.
Officers located the man and placed him under arrest. Police allege the man resisted police and became violent. A screwdriver was located secreted in the man’s clothing and removed by police.
During the altercation, two other men approached police and were subsequently arrested.
No injuries were sustained as a result of the altercation.
All three men were arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station.
A 29-year-old man was charged with intimidate police officer in execution of duty, offensive language, possess housebreaking implements and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.
A 24-year-old man was charged with intimidate police officer in execution of duty and offensive language.
A 25-year-old man was charged with assault person with intent to resist/prevent apprehension, possess housebreaking implements, steal motor vehicle and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.
All three were refused bail and are due to face Batemans Bay Local Court today (Thursday 26 September 2019).
