NSW police charge three men after Gunnedah assault

Three men have been charged after an aggravated break and enter and fight at a home in the state’s north-east.

About 12.20am on Saturday (2 November 2019), a man was at his home on Carroll Street at Gunnedah when he was approached by three men in the front yard.

Police have been told an argument developed involving all parties, which allegedly escalated with two men, aged 23 and 27, assaulting the male resident and his dog, while a third man, aged 24, damaged property and the home.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District called to the scene, however the three men had left the location.

The male occupant of the home sustained minor injuries as a result.

Following inquiries, police arrested and charged a 23-year-old man on Saturday (2 November 2019), in relation to the incident.

The 27-year-old man was arrested and charged on Monday (4 November 2019), and the third man attended Gunnedah Police Station on Tuesday (5 November 2019), where he was arrested and charged.

All three men were charged with affray, aggravated break and enter, and malicious damage.

They were all bail refused to appear before Gunnedah Local Court on Tuesday 7 January 2020.
