NSW police charge two after armed robbery at Nowra

Two men will face court today after a 16-year-old boy was allegedly robbed at knife point in Nowra.

About 12.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 9 July 2019), a 16-year-old boy was approached at Shoalhaven Netball Courts in South Nowra by a 20-year-old man, who spoke to the boy before leaving and heading into bushland at the rear of the courts.

Approximately 20 minutes later the man, in the company of another 20-year-old man, approached the boy and allegedly produced a knife before demanding property.

After the boy handed over a small amount of cash and his phone the two men fled into bushland.

About 2.15pm, two men who matched the description of the offenders were located walking along the Princes Highway at Nowra. Police searched the men and located the victim’s property.

The two men were arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station.

One of the men was charged with armed robbery and the other was charged with robbery in company. Both men were bail refused and are due to face Nowra Local Court today (Wednesday 10 July 2019).
