NSW police charge two after stolen performance vehicle recovered at Northbridge

A man and a woman have been charged after a stolen vehicle was recovered in Sydney’s north this morning.

About 1.30am (Wednesday 13 March 2019), police were called to Lower Bligh Street, Northbridge, after reports of two people allegedly stealing property from cars in the street.

Officers from North Shore Police Area Command arrived to locate a woman aged 18 and a man aged 26, who ran from the scene when police arrived, before both were arrested nearby after a short foot pursuit.

Police located a damaged Mercedes AMG C63 alleged to be stolen from Bondi on Sunday 10 March 2019.

Both the man and the woman were taken to Chatswood Police Station, where they were charged with offences relating to the stolen vehicle, and larceny.

The pair were refused bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court today (Wednesday 13 March 2019).

Police are still conducting inquiries into other incidents the vehicle may have been involved in around the Sydney metropolitan area while it was allegedly stolen.
