NSW police charge two over armed robbery of Windsor hotel

Two people have been charged following the alleged armed robbery of a hotel in Sydney’s north-west earlier this year.

About 9.30pm on Sunday 18 September 2022, police were called to a licensed premises on George Street at Windsor, following reports of an armed robbery.

It is alleged a man gained entry to the premises and threatened a female employee, demanding cash from a till and safe in the hotel’s office.

The woman complied; placing amounts of cash into a bag provided by the man, who then then fled the location via Union Lane.

Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which underwent forensic examination.

Detectives established Strike Force Craigmoor to further investigate the robbery.

Following inquiries, investigators executed search warrants at homes in Baulkham Hills and North Rocks on Thursday (10 November 2022).

At Baulkham Hills, a 44-year-old man was arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station where he was charged with in dwelling, steal and break out, break and enter dwelling with intend steal and break and enter and steal.

He appeared at Penrith Local Court on Friday (11 November 2022), where he was formally refused bail to appear at the same court on Friday 18 November 2022.

A 37-year-old woman was arrested at North Rocks just after 4pm yesterday (Saturday 12 November 2022).

She was taken to Windsor Police Station and charged with in dwelling, steal and break out, make false official instrument to pervert course justice, break and enter dwelling with intend steal – principal second degree, and break and enter and steal – principal second degree.

The woman was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 13 November 2022).
