NSW police charge two over Wyong stabbing, inquiries continue

Two people have been charged by detectives investigating the stabbing of a shop owner at Wyong as inquiries continue into the identity of a further two people believed involved.

Emergency services were called to a store on Warner Avenue and Levitt Street, Wyong, about 9.25am Tuesday (2 April 2019), and found a 41-year-old man suffering multiple stab wounds.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to Royal North Shore where he underwent surgery that night; he is now reported to be in a stable condition.

Following inquiries by detectives from Tuggerah Lakes Police District, an 18-year-old man was arrested at a home in Green Point that night.

He has been charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon cause wounding/grievous bodily harm. He was refused police bail and appeared in Wyong Local Court where he was granted conditional bail to appear at Gosford Local Court on Friday 31 May 2019.

Following further inquiries, police attended a home in Wyong yesterday and arrested a 17-year-old girl, taking her to Wyong Police Station where she has also been charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon cause wounding/grievous bodily harm.

She has been refused bail to appear at a children’s court today (Thursday 4 April 2019).

Investigations are continuing into the identity of two other people believed to have been in the store at the time.
