A woman will face court today after police allegedly located illicit drugs during a search warrant at a home in the state’s Murray River region yesterday.
Following investigations into the alleged supply of prohibited drugs in the Albury area, officers attached to Murray River Police District’s Proactive Crime Team and Crime Prevention Unit, with the assistance of Strike Force Puma officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, executed a search warrant at a home on Plover Street, Albury, just before 10am yesterday (Wednesday 20 July 2022).
Police located and seized quantities of methylamphetamine (‘Ice’), cocaine, MDMA, cannabis and $2500 cash in the home. Officers also seized a bicycle, lawnmower, blower vacs, whipper snippers and several power tools, which are believed to have been stolen.
It will be alleged the home had been operating as a drug premises, with police dismantling more than ten CCTV cameras and a CCTV hard drive.
A 44-year-old woman was arrested at the home and taken to Albury Police Station where she was charged with nine offences:
- Possess prohibited drug (three counts),
- Supply prohibited drug (two counts),
- Deal with property proceeds of crime,
- Goods suspected stolen in/on premises (not motor vehicle) (two counts), and,
- Owner/occupier knowingly allow use as drug premises.
The Albury woman was refused bail to appear in Albury Local Court today (Thursday 21 July 2022).
