NSW police charge woman over robbery at Albury

A woman has been charged following investigations into the alleged robbery of another woman at Albury yesterday.

About 10.45am on Thursday (27 January 2022), a 64-year-old woman was using an ATM machine at Griffith Road, Lavington, when she was approached by a 39-year-old woman, who allegedly grabbed hold of the cash.

A struggle ensued between the pair and a bystander who intervened, before the younger woman ran from the scene with the cash.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police attended a home at Prune Street, Albury, and arrested a 39-year-old woman about 12.45pm.

She was taken to Albury Police Station and charged with aggravated robbery.

The woman was refused bail to appear at Albury Local Court today (Friday 28 January 2022).
