NSW police investigate armed robbery

Police are appealing for public assistance after an armed robbery at a bottle shop in Sydney’s west overnight.

At 8.20pm yesterday (Saturday 28 March 2020), a man entered a bottle shop on Queen Street in St Marys and threatened an employee with a large carving knife.

The man directed the employee, a man aged 64, to the cash register and demanded money.

The employee was unable to open the cash register and the man ran from the store, without any proceeds.

He is believed to have entered the passenger seat of a dark blue Rav 4 parked in the rear carpark that was driven towards Charles Hackett Drive.

The man was wearing a black hoodie and sunglasses, with his face covered, at the time.

Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
