NSW police investigate hotel robberies

A police investigation is underway into armed robberies at two hotels in the Burwood Police Area Command overnight.

Just before 8pm (Wednesday 12 May 2021), police were called to a hotel on Coronation Parade, Enfield, after reports of an armed robbery.

Police have been told an unknown man approached the bar and threatened staff before demanding cash. An amount of money was handed over and the man ran from the hotel.

About 9pm (Wednesday 12 May 202), police were called to another hotel in Liverpool Road, Ashfield, following reports of a second armed robbery, where cash was stolen by a man who threatened bar staff and demanded money.

The man has been described as having a fair complexion, about 175cm tall, with a solid build and dark hair. He was wearing a blue bomber-style jacket with white sleeves, grey track pants and had his face covered with a white surgical mask.

Crimes scenes were established at each location and investigations are ongoing, including if the incidents are linked.

No one was injured.
