NSW police lay charges after man stabbed

A man has been charged after another man presented at Bankstown Hospital suffering a stab wound to his chest last week.

Detectives have been told the 32-year-old man was stabbed outside a home on Mons Street, Condell Park, following an altercation with a man known to him about 11.30pm on Wednesday 24 October 2019.

He was driven to Bankstown Hospital by his partner where he was treated before being transferred to Liverpool Hospital is a serious condition.

A crime scene was established on Mons Street, and officers from Bankstown Police Area Command commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

About 8.45am today (Monday 28 October 2019), a 38-year-old man from Yagoona attended Bankstown Police Station where he was arrested and charged with reckless wounding and common assault.

He was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Monday 28 October 2019). He was refused bail again to reappear at the same court on Wednesday 30 October 2019.
