NSW police officer assaulted; man charged at Hawkesbury

A police woman has been assaulted while on duty in the Hawkesbury Police Are Command last night.

About 8.15pm (Sunday 2 June 2019), police were called to Boomerang Drive, Glossodia in relation to a driving complaint.

At the location police spoke with a number of witnesses before attending a home on Mitchell Drive, Glossodia.

At the home officers spoke with a 37-year-old man who allegedly became very aggressive as they attempted to arrest him and kicked the female Constable in the face.

The officers managed to arrest the man and he was taken to Hawkesbury Police Station where he was charged with assault police, drive under the influence of alcohol, operate vehicle so driving wheels undergo loss of traction.

He was given conditional bail and will appear in Windsor Local Court on Thursday 27 June 2019.

The officer was taken to Hawkesbury Hospital for treatment to her jaw and has since returned home.
