NSW police responding to fatal single-vehicle crash at Thurgoona

A man’s died following a single-vehicle crash in the state’s south overnight.

Officers from Murray River Police District were called to Elizabeth Mitchell Drive, Thurgoona, about 10.45pm (Wednesday 16 June 2021) following reports of a crash.

Initial inquiries suggest a red Ford Focus which was traveling in a southerly direction lost control; leaving the roadway and rolling several times before coming to rest on its roof.

The driver, a man believed to be in his late 20s, died at the scene.

His passenger, aged 31, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics then taken to Albury Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been established as investigations into the crash continue.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
