NSW police seek information after firearms stolen, shots fired late last year

Detectives from Riverina Police District are continuing to investigate the theft of firearms and ammunition from a Tarcutta property that occurred in December last year.

Five firearms – four rifles and a single barrel shotgun – were stolen from a locked safe at a property on Mundarlo Road, Borambola, sometime prior to Friday 24 December 2021.

Investigations have identified a link between this theft to another incident, which occurred around 3am Sunday 5 December 2021, where unknown offenders fired a shot into the front of two homes in Tolland and Mount Austin. No one was injured.

A firearm believed to have been used in the shootings has been seized by police and is undergoing forensic examination.

Investigations into both incidents are being conducted under Strike Force Morag.
