NSW police seek information after man threatened and quad bike stolen

Police are appealing for information after a man was threatened and quad bike stolen in the state’s far north yesterday.

About 8am (Monday 17 January 2022), two men on a quad bike entered a property on Tucka Tucka Road, Twin Rivers, about 25km east of Boggabilla and allegedly stole a quad bike.

The owner – 36-year-old man – followed the men through a neighbouring property before one crashed then joined the other man on the second quad bike.

When they crashed the second quad bike, the owner approached the men and was threatened with a knife.

The man left and the men left the scene. A short time later, the quad bike was found upside down but there was no sign of the men.

Officers attached to New England Police District attended and commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to two men that may be able to assist them.

First man is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, with a thin build, wearing a black hooded jumper, black pants and red gloves.

The second man is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, a large build, wearing a khaki jacket, dark pants and a black beanie.

Police are urging anyone who may have either dashcam footage or CCTV from the area or who may have information which could assist detectives to contact Boggabilla Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
