NSW police seek witnesses after child approach at Deniliquin

Police are appealing for information after a child was approached by a man in the state’s south west yesterday.

Shortly after 8am (Monday 18 May 2020), a 14-year-old girl was walking to school along Napier Street, when she was approached by an unknown man.

Police have been told the man followed the girl and called out to her.

The girl immediately called her sister and notified staff at the school.

Officers from Murray River Police District were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 40s, with grey stubble and a thin build. He was wearing a black t-shirt, blue pants and a beanie at the time.

He was last seen at a car wash at the intersection of Harfleur and Napier Street.

Police are appealing for public assistance and urge anyone with information or any motorists who may have dashcam vision to contact Deniliquin Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
