NSW police seek witnesses after man dies after crash at Nowra

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was struck by a car while riding his bicycle in the state’s south last month.

About 7.20pm Monday 27 January 2020, a 51-year-old man was riding a bicycle in a southerly direction along Stewart Place, Nowra, before entering Lawrence Avenue.

The bicycle collided with a red Nissan Navara that was travelling west along Worrigee Street.

The man, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital with suspected head injuries.

On Friday 31 January 2020, the man died.

The man suffered from a pre-existing head injury and cause of death is yet to be determined.

A brief will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

As inquiries into the crash continue, police are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact South Coast police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police would also like to speak with two members of the public – a man and a woman – who are believed to have assisted the man following the crash.
