NT Covid update 19 February

There were 835 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the NT in the 24 hours to 8pm on 18 February 2022. Of these, 736 were positive cases from a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).

There were 450 cases recorded in the Top End region, 141 in Central Australia, 71 in East Arnhem, 29 in the Big Rivers region, 34 in the Barkly region and 110 are under investigation.

There are currently 127 patients in hospital, with 18 patients requiring oxygen. There are two patients in ICU.

The number of active cases in the NT is about 6,467.

Public health measures

To slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community and reduce the rate of transmission, the following public health measures are in place across the NT:

  • A Territory-wide indoor mask mandate
  • It is highly recommended that all people aged 12 years and over wear a mask outdoors when physical distancing cannot be applied
