Mask mandate to end

The mask mandate that is currently in place for the Barkly Region will lift as planned at 5pm this evening, 29 December 2021.

It is important all people in the NT check the COVID-19 website to review the list of NT public exposure sites here.

To reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading in our communities, it is important for everyone to follow all the health directions.

COVID-19 testing

1,610 COVID-19 tests were processed across the NT yesterday.

It is important all Territorians and visitors get tested for COVID-19 if showing any symptoms such as a cough, fever, shortness of breath, muscle aches, change in taste or smell and a sore throat.

COVID-19 testing sites are open in Nhulunbuy, Katherine, Darwin, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs. Testing is also available at NT Health clinics in remote communities.

Please note tests booked at Marrara from December 30 will be rescheduled for the East Arm Clinic.

Infants aged under two are no longer required to have a negative COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours before arriving in the NT. They must continue to follow all other entry and testing requirements, including having a Rapid Antigen Test on day three after arriving in the NT, and again on day six.
