Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on Junction Road, Inglewood, New Plymouth.
Police were called to the two vehicle crash around 7.50am.
One person has died at the scene and six others have received serious to minor injuries.
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
Junction Road is currently closed.
Motorists are being asked to expect delays, and avoid the area if possible.
