NZ police arrest three after Takapuna burglary

As stated by Inspector Stefan Sagar, Area Commander Waitematā East:

Three people have been taken into custody following a burglary in Takapuna overnight.

Around 1am, Police were called to a burglary at a commercial premises in Lake Rd where it is understood a vehicle was used to gain entry.

Three offenders entered the shop and took a quantity of vapes and vape liquids.

They have then left the shop in a different vehicle.

With the assistance of the Police helicopter – Eagle, the vehicle was observed heading along State Highway 18 city bound.

Shortly after Police successfully spiked and stopped the vehicle, arresting three people without incident.

A number of stolen items were recovered and will be returned to the store owner.

Staff acted quickly, identifying the offenders believed to be involved.

Police are aware of the ongoing concerns in our area regarding this type of incident and we are pleased to advise of these arrests.

We understand these types of incidents are incredibly distressing and Police have no tolerance for this type of behaviour.

A 15-year-old male will appear in North Shore Youth Court today, with two others due to appear on 10 May.
