NZ police arrest two after Waharoa robbery

As stated by Detective Sergeant Blair Hayde, Matamata Piako CIB:

Waikato Police have arrested and charged two people in relation to an aggravated robbery in Waharoa earlier this month.

Police began investigating, following the robbery on June 5, where four people were reported to have entered a store on Seddon Street, targeting cigarettes.

A woman working in the store was assaulted during the robbery and sustained minor injuries.

Yesterday, Matamata Piako CIB supported by PST and Prevention staff executed a series of search warrants, locating two people and a number of items in connection with this investigation.

Two men, one aged 18, and the other a youth, have been charged with aggravated robbery and appeared in the Hamilton Youth Court yesterday.

Enquiries are continuing to locate the two remaining offenders, however we hope the arrest of this pair will help prevent further harm to the Waharoa community.

If anyone has any information which can help the ongoing investigation, please call Police on 105 quoting file number 210606/9832.
