Off-duty police officer fined for drink driving – North West Metropolitan Region

An off-duty police officer has been fined after allegedly low range drink driving in Sydney’s north early this morning.

About 1.40am (Saturday 7 February 2026), officers attached to North Shore Highway and Traffic Patrol were conducting stationary testing on the Pacific Highway, at Lane Cove North, where they directed a Mazda SUV to stop.

The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old woman, was arrested after returning a positive reading.

She was taken to Chatswood Police Station for secondary testing, which allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.079.

The off-duty probationary constable, attached to a North West Metropolitan Region Command, was issued a Traffic Infringement Notice for drive with low-range PCA.

Her driver’s license was suspended, and her employment status is under review.
