Officer assaulted at Liverpool Police Station; man charged, NSW

A man will appear in court today after allegedly assaulting an officer at a police station in Sydney’s south west.

Just after 11pm yesterday (Friday 22 March 2019), a 19-year-old man approached the counter at Liverpool Police Station and allegedly hit the perspex several times.

Police spoke to the man at the counter before a male constable entered the foyer area and was allegedly assaulted.

Additional police assisted and the man was arrested and searched.

During the search, police found a bag of white powder.

The Bonnyrigg man was charged with assault officer in execution of duty and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 23 March 2019).
