A 36 year old male Constable from the western region has been charged with drink driving arising from an on-duty incident that occurred on Sunday 27 October 2019. The officer was subject to a breathanalysis that returned a positive reading of 0.052%.
The officer has been restricted to non-operational duties and is not permitted to drive any police vehicle.
The officer has been bailed to appear in the Burnie Magistrates Court on 17 December 2019.
As the matter is now before the court it is inappropriate to make any further comment.
