Officer charged – Central Metropolitan Region 28 January, NSW

A serving police officer attached to a command in the Central Metropolitan Region has been charged.

On Thursday (26 January 2023), officers from Inner West Police Area Command commenced inquiries after receiving a report regarding alleged harassment.

Following inquiries, a 25-year-old man was arrested at Newtown Police Station about 11am yesterday (Friday 27 January 2023).

The constable was charged with two counts of use carriage service to menace/harass/offend.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Newtown Local Court on Monday 30 January 2023.

His employment status is under review.
