A serving police officer has been charged with assault.
In September 2022, an investigation was commenced by officers from Central Metropolitan Region in relation to allegations of an assault involving a 16-year-old boy earlier that month.
Following inquiries, a 41-year-old man was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for two counts of common assault today (Monday 10 October 2022).
The senior constable – who is attached to a Central Metropolitan Region Command – is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Monday 21 November 2022.
The officer has been suspended with pay.
