Officer charged – Specialist Command 20 September

A police officer has been charged following an investigation by the Professional Standards Command.

Earlier this year (August 2023), officers from the Professional Standards Command commenced an investigation under Strike Force Carne into alleged historic domestic violence offences involving a serving police officer attached to a specialist command whilst off-duty.

Following inquiries, a 36-year-old male senior constable was arrested and taken to Cabramatta Police Station.

The officer was charged with 21 offences including:

  • Four counts of common assault DV
  • Seven counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm DV
  • Six counts of stalk intimidate intend fear physical harm
  • Aggravated sexual assault inflict aggravated bodily harm DV
  • Two counts of destroy or damage property less than $2000 DV
  • Do act intending to pervert the course of justice

He was refused bail to appear before Fairfield Local Court today (Wednesday 20 September 2023). He was further refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on Wednesday 15 November 2023.

His employment status is currently under review.
