An off-duty officer has been charged after allegedly committing burnouts in Sydney’s southwest earlier this year.
In March 2026, officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were called to a carpark in Concord, following reports a car had been allegedly conducting burnouts and driving recklessly.
Police attended and spoke to the alleged driver – a 26-year-old man – before commencing inquiries into the incident.
Following inquiries, police charged the 26-year-old – a constable attached to a South West Metropolitan Command – today (Friday 10 April 2026), with prolong, sustain loss of traction and operate vehicle so driving wheel/s undergo loss of traction.
He was issued a court attendance notice to appear before Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 26 May 2026.
The officer’s employment status is under review.
