Official launch of the Emergency Management Pride Network Victoria

The EMPNV is a network been founded to raise awareness and visibility of the LGBTIQ community and allies from Victoria’s emergency management sector. It aims to create a more inclusive and collaborative environment.

The launch will be held online via Zoom to accommodate COVID-19 restrictions. It will feature a variety of speakers and prepared content from EMPNV and from across the emergency management sector, plus opportunities to chat informally and meet other colleagues.

We welcome attendees from across the agencies in the emergency management sector, as well as their family and friends.

Members can click here to register to attend the event.

The network attended the Midsumma Carnival and Pride March at the beginning of 2020 to host its ‘soft launch’.

Now, with the group fully formed and comprising representatives from agencies and organisations across Victoria’s emergency management sector, the network is excited to host the official launch.

The EMPNV looks forward to developing partnerships with other pride networks, groups, and initiatives in Victoria, and exploring opportunities interstate and overseas.

CFA Acting CEO Catherine Greaves said CFA is thrilled to be part of the network.

“CFA is thrilled to be part of the Emergency Management Pride Network Victoria and the emergency services sector as we lead the way as a collective to raise awareness, visibility and support of the LGBTIQ community.

“This will drive increased inclusion as well as improved wellbeing and mental health outcomes for all of our people. “

To keep up-to-date with future with news and events from the network members can sign up to the EMPNV mailing list here, or through EMPNV’s Twitter or LinkedIn.
