Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers needs your help: Calling for memorabilia to make the 70th celebration spectacular

In just four months the 70th Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers will take over the regional city with a sea of colour, some 180,000 bulbs and seedlings all nurtured to bloom perfectly to welcome some 250,000 fans of this extraordinary event.

As part of the 70th anniversary celebration, a special display of memorabilia from the past seven decades will be curated in Toowoomba City Hall and organisers are keen for members of the community to contribute to the display. They need your help!

Toowoomba Regional Council Environment and Community Committee Chair, Cr. Geoff McDonald said, “We are calling on everyone to see if they have any memorabilia that we could use to pay tribute to 70 years of Carnival! We are looking for old newspaper clippings, videos, props, ribbons, trophies or photographs specifically linked to the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. Video footage of the Carnival would be particularly wonderful for us to be able to share with the wider community and to preserve for future generations,” he said.
