Operation Tidal arrest after car theft

Police have arrested man in an allegedly stolen car in Cranbourne overnight.

Officers were patrolling as part of Operation Tidal when they identified the allegedly stolen vehicle entering a car park on Monahans Road about 2am.

Police attempted to intercept the vehicle near Monahans Road and Breens Road however the driver attempted to flee.

The car dove up onto the nature strip and got stuck in a fence where police quickly arrested the driver.

A 21-year-old man from Cranbourne West has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, disqualified driving, drug driving and fail to stop on police request.

He has been remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court today.

This arrest is part of Operation Tidal which utilises a highly visible police presence across the Casey, Greater Dandenong and Cardinia Police Service Areas (PSAs).

Tidal is an ongoing operation and police will continue to focus resources where they’re most needed.
