Moreton Tactical Crime Squad officers have seized five knives during a wanding blitz on Tuesday, November 14.
Police engaged with 43 people as part of the wanding operations at public transport stations between Petrie and Caboolture.
A total of 17 people were charged across 29 offences, including weapons and drug offences.
An 18-year-old Caboolture man was charged with one count each of possession of a knife in a public place and possession of a Category M weapon (knuckle dusters). He is due to appear before Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on December 11.
A 55-year-old Forest Lake man was charged with one count each of possession of a knife in a public place, possess utensils and possess dangerous drugs. He is due to appear before Caboolture Magistrates Court on December 14.
A 50-year-old Caboolture man was charged one count of possession of a knife in a public place and is due to appear before Caboolture Magistrates Court on December 14.
A 37-year-old Buderim man was charged with one count of possession of a knife in a public place and is due to appear before Caboolture Magistrates Court on November 29.
Moreton District Crime Group Detective Inspector David Harbison said Operation Victor Course is aimed at targeting and disrupting anti-social behaviour on public transport during peak travel periods.
“Every wanding operation is an opportunity to not only take dangerous weapons off our streets, but to engage with the community and educate them on exactly why carrying a weapon puts themselves and others at risk,” Acting Senior Segreant McAllister said.
“Moreton Tactical Crime Squad will continue to proactively conduct these operations in a high-visibility capacity to enhance community safety.”
