Oval Hotel creating jobs and taking bookings

The highly anticipated Oval Hotel will start taking bookings from today as development approaches completion, which has so far supported 800 construction jobs.

The 138-room boutique Oval Hotel will create more than 100 ongoing jobs once complete.

Touring the hotel for the first time, Premier Steven Marshall said this development will be a major drawcard for visitors as we continue to open South Australia to the nation and the world post-COVID.

“The Oval Hotel is going to be a fantastic addition to the world class Adelaide Oval and cement its spot as a major tourist attraction,” said Premier Marshall.

“This development has so far supported around 800 construction jobs and from today, it’s open for bookings.

“Our tourism industry supports thousands of local jobs, and the Oval Hotel will be the jewel in the crown of the Adelaide Oval, one of our most renowned attractions.”

Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Local Government Stephan Knoll said the Oval Hotel would help breathe more life into the Riverbank precinct.

“This project is part of around $1 billion of investment being poured into the Riverbank precinct, including the new casino, new Festival Plaza and the Walker development,” said Minister Knoll.

“We want more people to enjoy our beautiful Riverbank precinct which will add to our City’s vibrancy and support local businesses.

“It’s disappointing that the Labor Party have been opposing this fantastic project every step of the way.

“This will cement the Adelaide Oval as one of the most exciting sporting venues in the world – there’s a real buzz about this project.”
