Former NRL champion Sam Thaiday will be among the speakers to address a crowd of 300 current and emerging Aboriginal leaders on Arrernte country this week.
Now in its fourth year, the NT Aboriginal Leadership and Governance Forum is being held at the Alice Springs Convention Centre on 14 September 2023.
Supported by the Territory Labor Government in partnership with key stakeholders, the one-day forum aims to bring together Aboriginal leaders, community, corporate and business to share stories, challenges and opportunities about leadership and governance.
Highlights from this year’s program include an opening address from Acting Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Ngaree Ah Kit, panel discussions with emerging and current leaders, a keynote speech from former NRL champion Sam Thaiday, case studies and ample networking opportunities.
Members from the current NT Government’s First Circles program will also be in attendance and participating in panel discussions.
The forum is a continuation of the Territory Labor Government’s commitment to a significant Aboriginal Affairs agenda, through the ‘Everyone Together’ Aboriginal Affairs Strategy and the implementation of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap, along with local decision making and treaty discussions.
