A teenager has been fined more than $2000 and is without a driver’s licence for six months after he was caught allegedly speeding in Sydney’s south-west.
Just after 8pm yesterday (Sunday May 9), officers attached to Auburn Traffic and Highway Patrol stopped a black Audi Q7 traveling north on Roberts Road, Greenacre, after its speed was checked at 143km/h – more than double the 70km/h signposted limit.
The 19-year-old man, who is a P1 provisional licence holder, was spoken to by officers then issued an infringement for the offence of exceed speed limit over 45km/h.
His licence was also suspended on the spot for a period of six months.
The car’s registration plates were not confiscated as the man was not the owner of the vehicle.
