Partnership Announcement: Disability Sports Australia and WeFlex

Disability Sports Australia are pleased to advise that we have partnered with WeFlex to provide Australians living with a disability the opportunity to gain support to improve their health & fitness.

WeFlex pride themselves on connecting fitness professionals who have been upskilled to work with the different unique needs of people with a disability. WeFlex have several national partnerships including Anytime Fitness, NDSP Plan Managers and Australian Institute of Personal Trainers. Disability Sports Australia have now listed and onboarded WeFlex to the newly created National Referral Hub for continued support to enable Australians with a disability to be more active, more often.

It is essential that organisations who provide specific supports for Australians with a disability, be able to promote their services through broader initiatives, so that people understand these supports are out there.

The Founder of WeFlex, Tommy Trout, began his journey as a result of having a family member impacted by disability and saw a lack of suitable supports to access becoming fitter and healthier. In addition to Disability Sports Australia working with mainstream sporting organisations through Sports Incubator we also want to shine a light on community support organisations such as WeFlex, who are making strong, personable contributions towards access and inclusion for Australians with a disability.

Disability Sports Australia CEO Murray Elbourn said “The story of We Flex is a powerful one, often a personal situation can lead to major change and that is the case with this situation. Having WeFlex as a preferred partner on our National Referral Hub will allow thousands of Australians with a disability to seek and use their services to increase their fitness and health.”

CEO of WeFlex, David Sexton noted “We’re passionate about improving the quality and longevity of life for hundreds of thousands of people with disability and championing the fitness industry across the country to be inclusive and accessible.”

We sincerely hope that people looking to increase their fitness and health will connect with WeFlex and start their journey to get more active in a supported and engaging way.
