Passenger dies after crash at Cammeray, NSW

A man has died after suffering critical injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Sydney’s North Shore at the weekend.

The 18-year-old man was a back-seat passenger in a Holden Commodore sedan – allegedly being driven by a 16-year-old girl – which left the road and hit a tree on West Street, Cammeray, about 4.40pm Sunday (13 November 2022).

The man suffered multiple critical injuries and was undergoing treatment in Royal North Shore Hospital; however, police were advised the man died last night (Thursday 17 November 2022).

The driver and three other passengers – two girls aged 16 and two boys aged 17 – remain in hospital, all reported to be in a stable condition.

Strike Force Mulvany, comprising officers attached to the critical incident team from Blue Mountains Police Area Command, is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation will be subject to independent review. A brief will now be prepared for the Coroner.
