Peep and pry charge for Surry Hills man, NSW

A man will face court today after allegedly trying to look into a woman’s window at a Surry Hills apartment complex earlier this year.

On 20 January 2019, police were called to the Surry Hills apartment complex after a woman reported seeing a man on her window ledge.

Police inquiries continued to try and identify the person responsible for the 20 January incident.

About 1am today (Sunday 24 February 2019), police went to a Surry Hills unit block after a female resident reported she saw someone was near her window.

Police attended and arrested a 57-year-old man nearby. Inquiries revealed he matched the description of a man who might be able to assist with inquiries into the 20 January incident.

He was charged with entering enclosed lands and peep and pry. The Surry Hills resident was refused bail prior to his appearance at Parramatta Bail Court today.

Inquiries into this morning’s incident at the apartment block are still continuing.
