The Pharmacy Guild of Australia, Victoria Branch has welcomed the announcement of Jacinta Allan as the new Victorian Premier and looks forward to continuing to work closely with the Victorian Government.
“The Victorian Government has been a strong supporter of community pharmacies in this state. The community pharmacy prescribing trial, due to begin next month, that will allow community pharmacists to use their clinical expertise to provide patients with timely and effective treatment for uncomplicated urinary tract infections, minor skin conditions and issuing repeat prescriptions for the oral contraceptive, is a prime example of this,” said Victorian Pharmacy Guild President Anthony Tassone.
“In recent meetings with the then Deputy Premier, Jacinta understood the importance of community pharmacies particularly during the COVID pandemic, and the expanding role we can play in accessible primary healthcare. We look forward to working collaboratively and constructively with Premier Allan and the Victorian Government for the benefit of the Victorian healthcare system and all Victorians,” Mr. Tassone said.
