The announcement of the Pharmacy of the Year 2020 has been delayed due to the unprecedented demand on community pharmacies across Australia as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.
The delay will enable pharmacists to concentrate of meeting patient needs and ensuring they are receiving the best possible health advice and care in this emergency. As one of the most trusted of all health professionals, the role of community pharmacists in the current emergency is crucial, not only in tending to patients, but also in providing clear and accurate information and advice.
The Pharmacy Guild of Australia Pharmacy of the Year awards, sponsored by Care Pharmaceuticals and QCPP, highlight the vital part pharmacies play in the health system and honour pharmacies that are leaders in adapting and innovating to provide the best healthcare for members of their communities.
The awards recognise excellence in pharmacy with the announcement of winners across three categories, one of which is named the Pharmacy of the Year.
The category winners this year are:
- Excellence in Professional Innovation – Wizard Pharmacy Kalgoorlie Central
- Excellence in Community Engagement – Wheatbelt Health Centre Pharmacy
- Excellence in Business Management – Capital Chemist Chisholm
