Pilot excellence shines through in Qantas results

Australian and International Pilots Association

The Australian and International Pilots Association (AIPA) applauds the excellence of Qantas Group pilots after the Company posted robust financial results today.

Qantas has posted its first full-year profit since 2019, with a profit after tax of $1.74 billion.

“The consistent dedication, professionalism, and commitment of our pilots have played a pivotal role in helping Qantas achieve these results,” said Captain Tony Lucas, President of AIPA.

“After enduring the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, where many experienced limited or no opportunities for work, our pilots have demonstrated exceptional performance and an unwavering commitment to the highest standards of safety and service.

“Pilots’ essential contribution to the Company’s return to financial health must be reflected in enterprise agreements, including the one under negotiation with Network Aviation pilots,” said Captain Lucas.

AIPA also welcomes the decision to purchase 12 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 12 Airbus A350s.

“AIPA is pleased that Qantas is undertaking a fleet rejuvenation program and looks forward to the promotional opportunities these purchases will provide to our members,” said Captain Lucas.
